CHAMOIS STALKING

CHAMOIS STALKING SPAIN

GOLD MEDAL TROPHIES

The Cantabrian chamois is found mainly in the Cantabrian Mountains in northern Spain, although it can also be found in adjacent mountainous areas in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula.

It is the smallest subspecies of chamois in the world, both in size and trophy. Both males and females are hunted, the latter having a finer trophy, but longer as a general rule.

Hunting is demanding and takes place at an altitude of 1,500 – 2,000 meters, sometimes even higher.

The sets are usually long, shooting at an average of 200 meters.

The best time to hunt them is during the rut. Generally, this occurs during autumn, specifically between October and November, although outside the rut they can also be hunted without problems.

Besides, they usually move during the whole day, which allows the hunting to be carried out from sunrise to sunset.

In Real Hunting Outfitters we have extensive experience in hunting Cantabrian chamois, both in reserves and private reserves.
