This Ibex has long horns with a backward growth, which closes in the final sections.
This subspecies mainly inhabits the large areas of the Sierra Nevada and the Alpujarras of Almeria. Its steep terrain and high altitude make it a perfect refuge for this species.
Hunting of this subspecies extends from the vicinity of the Mediterranean Sea to more than 1000 meters above sea level in the great snow-capped mountains.
The hunting season extends from October to May, the best months being late October to late November, when the rut is at its peak.

SUBSPECIES SPANISH IBEX
GREDOS
The most coveted and emblematic subspecies in Spain. Characterized by its long, open, lyre-shaped horns, it is the dream Ibex. It lives in the Sierra de Gredos (Avila, Extremadura, Toledo and Madrid).
BECEITE
Known for its large body size and its long, open, “aeroplane” shaped horns. It lives in the great mountains of Teruel.
RONDA
Smaller subspecies, characterised by its long, closed horns. It mainly inhabits the area of Ronda (Malaga).
GREDOS
The most coveted and emblematic subspecies in Spain. Characterized by its long, open, lyre-shaped horns, it is the dream Ibex. It lives in the Sierra de Gredos (Avila, Extremadura, Toledo and Madrid).
BECEITE

Many foreign hunters come to our country with the aim of shooting the four males in a given number of days.
As they have a totally different morphology as far as horn is concerned and a different location and type of hunting, it has become a challenge and objective for both foreign and national hunters.
We have permits in the best areas to shoot measurable and representative animals. This has allowed us to obtain the Grand Slam of ibex on several occasions achieving the happiness of the hunter.
